A Family Session Rooted in Emotion and Place

The Isabu Family’s spring session at the Mandeville lakefront was more than just a photo shoot—it was a way to honor the chapter they were closing. With Spanish moss swaying in the breeze and the sun casting golden light over the water, we created a gallery that reflects both their love and the landscape they’ve called home.

We began by capturing wide family portraits with the scenic lake behind them, moving through the lakefront to take advantage of Louisiana’s signature live oaks. The kids had fun exploring, and the youngest added a spark of personality to every shot. The genuine interactions—siblings laughing, mom and daughter sharing a quiet glance—gave life to each frame.

A Stop at Home Before Saying Goodbye

After our time at the lakefront, we made a final stop: their family home. This wasn’t just another location—it was where countless everyday moments had unfolded. Photographing them on their front stoop added depth and sentiment to their session.

These images are now more than just pretty pictures. They’re future heirlooms—artwork that will grace the walls of their new home and serve as a bridge between where they’ve been and where they’re going.

Why These Photos Matter

As a family photographer in Mandeville, I’m reminded that the best sessions come from real connection. The Isabus were relaxed, fully present, and trusted me to guide them. Their comfort allowed for candid, story-rich portraits that feel just as real as the moments themselves.

If you’re considering a family session before a move or life change, take a cue from the Isabus: include meaningful locations, embrace the emotions, and don’t be afraid to let personalities shine.
